Welcome to our “Monthly Mini Feature”! We will be highlighting different local artisans and crafters who have been busy imagining, creating, dreaming, and doing. During this particularly difficult time please remember our artists and small businesses who support them as they have been and always will be valuable contributors to our quality of life, our economy, and one of many important facets of our community.

Our Featured Artist for the month of November 2020 is Rachael Platt! Rachael is a multi-talented pottery artist with a unique artistic style embodying a combination of ageless spirituality and modern aesthetics. There is a certain mysticism in Rachael’s creations with a focus on the regal and mythical aspects of the heart, mind, and soul.

Rachael has a formal education in the arts, with a Ceramics degree from Towson University in 2014 and a minor in Art History. Her enchanting creations have been featured at local shops, galleries, and art exhibits. She was to make a debut as her first time as an artist and proprietress of her very own shop at the Maryland Renaissance Festival this year (which was canceled due to the pandemic) but we hope to see her return for 2021.

Meanwhile her artwork may be viewed at www.OneElevenPottery.com, on FB at “One:Eleven Pottery”, Etsy at: OneElevenPottery and also on Instagram: @oneelevenpottery.

Thank you Rachael for keeping the creative fires kindled in St. Mary’s County, we are looking forward to seeing you and your latest new ceramic pieces soon!
