This is the very first mural in Lexington Park! The CDC’s Art Park Committee held a contest for design submissions. The winner and design behind this mural was Lyn Wescoe. Her design included a majority of what defines Lexington Park and the surrounding area in a beautiful monochrome color palate.

There were many hands in helping this design idea turn into the mural it is today. CDC’s ArtsPark project manager, Roz Racanello was the primary artist transferring the design into the mural. Her wonderful helpers were St. Mary’s College Professor Carrie Patterson and her Community Art Class helping with the beginning outline transfer, former St. Mary’s County Commissioner President, Jack Russell, Tim Dixon, St. Mary’s Arts Council Executive Director Nell Elder, and even a few brush strokes from Lexington Park’s County Commissioner Todd Morgan.
