St. Mary’s County Arts Council Grant Opportunities:

The St. Mary's County Arts Council provides funding support for community arts development through our grants program. We award approximately $50,000 annually to local organizations and schools for the presentation of arts activities in our community. Past grant recipients have included: the River Concert Series, The Sanford Concert Series, Sotterley Foundation, Town of Leonardtown, COSMIC Symphony, St. Mary's River Watershed Association, United Committee for Afro American Contributions, and other organizations.

Before you apply for your grant, it is required for you to read the Grant Guidelines. You will find the necessary forms to apply for your grant below.

Community Arts Development Grant

Applicants for grant funding consideration must qualify as nonprofit organizations presenting arts programs or projects in St. Mary's County or for the benefit of St. Mary's County citizens. All funded programs and projects must be open to the public and must meet specific eligibility criteria.

Grant requests must be received by:

  • October 1st for programs that take place between November 1st and January 31st

  • February 1st for programs that take place between March 1st and October 31st.


Arts In Education Grant

This grant is for schools only. This grant is to help pay for half of the cost of quality performances and/or hands-on intensive workshops in the schools by visiting performers, artists, authors, poets, master teachers and professionals in the areas of music, visual art, drama, dance, and literature for the educational enhancement of youth.

The deadline to apply for this grant is November 4, 2018


Scholarships

St. Mary’s County Arts Council Scholarship Opportunities:

The St. Mary’s County Arts Council provides a scholarship to support our graduating seniors who want to continue into the arts. The SMAC has established these awards to recognize, encourage, and support individuals who demonstrate excellence and a high level of interest in the visual arts, the performing arts, or in theater.

High School Senior Scholarship

The St. Mary’s County Arts Council will present up to four $1,000 awards to graduating seniors from St. Mary’s County.

Scholarship applications need to be received by June 14, 2019.
