This is the very first mural in Lexington Park! The CDC’s Art Park Committee held a contest for design submissions and the selected winner was Lyn Wescoe! Lynn’s design included a majority of what defines Lexington Park and the surrounding area in a beautiful monochrome palate.

There were many hands in helping this design idea turn into the mural which it is today. The CDC’s ArtsPark project manager, Roz Racanello, was the primary artist transferring the design into the mural. Her wonderful helpers were St. Mary’s College Professor Carrie Patterson and her Community Art Class assisting with the beginning outline transfer, former St. Mary’s County Commissioner President Jack Russell, Tim Dixon, St. Mary’s County Arts Council Executive Director Nell Elder, and even a few brush strokes from Lexington Park’s County Commissioner Todd Morgan.
