Art Share Series Friday June 1, 2018 5:30 - 6:30pm Local artist Jennifer Cooper will be our featured speaker for our Art Share Series from 5:30 - 6:30pm. Her presentation will include an intriguing history and evolution of her journey through a unexpectedly varied career as a professional vocalist in multiple genres. Guitarist Carl Reichelt will join Jennifer in a performance of songs spanning jazz, blues, light pop, folk, Italian art song, Spanish art song, Opera, and more!
Stay for the outdoor audience participation Drum Circle with the SoMar Drummers from 8-9 PM, all ages and skill levels welcome. Bring a lawn chair, limited seating will be available at the grassy field adjacent to our office.

Way to go 5th Graders at LPES! See below for the making of this amazing new mural created under the direction of local artist Joi Lowe and Katie Ford, LPES Art Teacher. This project was funded by the Arts In Education Grant through both St. Mary's County and the Maryland State Arts Councils.

The St. Mary's County Arts Council, Inc. is funded by a grant from the Maryland State Arts Council, (MSAC), an agency dedicated to cultivating a vibrant cultural community where the arts thrive. An agency of the Department of Business & Economic Development, the MSAC provides financial support and technical assistance to nonprofit organizations, units of government, colleges and universities for arts activities.
