The Color and Light is a society of visual artists from Calvert, Charles and St. Mary's Counties who are dedicated to artistic development and the creation of original works of art. The group consists of artists working in oil, acrylic, watercolor, sculpture, fused glass, photography, jewelry and woodworking.

Color and Light members participate in annual shows and sales in galleries and businesses in the Southern Maryland area as well as Artsfest at Annmarie Garden and Winefest at Sotterly Plantation.

Meetings are held each month for artists' demonstrations, educational presentation and a chance to interact with other artists. As a non-profit, the group also volunteers at various events to further the public's participation in the arts.

If you are interested in becoming a member of Color and Light please visit our membership page or contact us:

Community Bank of the Chesapeake partners with
St. Mary’s County Arts Council

The Arts Council partnered with the Community Bank in Charlotte Hall in 2014 and are pleased to present a quarterly showcase of the work of Southern Maryland Artists. The Color & Light Society took over the management of the Gallery Space in December 2015.

Community Bank is a long-time supporter of the arts in Southern Maryland and has provided this special opportunity to share the talent of our extraordinary artist with all the bank visitors.

Stop by the bank and see the beautiful exhibit!
