Ann Preston - Classes

WATERCOLOR TECHNIQUES: 

This class is for those that would like to give watercolor a try or need a bit more help and direction in watercolor.  The class will run 6 weeks and will cover:  materials, mixing watercolor, color harmony, creating values, use of washes, creating texture, and negative painting.  We will build slowly from simple compositions to more complex covering landscape, flowers, and still life.   The emphasis of the class with be working with watercolor not drawing, so put your fear of drawing aside and come have fun with color, water, and happy mixing!
 
General supplies needed:  (As time goes by you may choose to gather other materials that are generally used.)
Brushes:  rounded: 4,8,12. (Others perhaps as time goes by)
Paint:  Blues (ultramarine blue, indigo, cobalt, cereleum)  Greens ( sap green)  browns (raw umber)  yellows (gamboge, aureolin) reds (alizarim crimson,  cadmium red)
Paper:  I usually use 330 lb which is expensive but 140lb will do
Also:  water container, paper towels, ruler, pencil, pen
 
Dates:
Wednesdays:  3/30, 4/6, 4/13, 4/20, 5/4, 5/11

10am - 1pm
